Qilin

Origin and Cultural Background
Qilin is a revered mythical creature in Chinese tradition, often mentioned in classical texts such as the Book of Rites (Liji) and the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shan Hai Jing). As one of the royal auspicious beasts, the appearance of a Qilin was believed to signify the arrival of peace, prosperity, and virtuous rulers.
